The Pixel 11 range

Google announced the range on 12 August 2026 and shipped on 20 August. There are four phones.

Pixel 11 (£879 for 12GB/256GB, £999 for 512GB) is the standard model: a 6.3-inch 120Hz Actua display, Tensor G6, 12GB of RAM, a 4,985mAh battery, a triple rear camera (48MP main, 13MP ultrawide, 10.8MP 5x telephoto) and the same seven-year update promise as the Pros. It is, on paper, the most complete phone Google has sold under £900.

Pixel 11 Pro (£1,079 for 12GB/256GB, £1,199 for 16GB/512GB, £1,429 for 1TB) keeps the 6.3-inch size but adds a brighter 120Hz Super Actua display, a triple camera (50MP main, 48MP ultrawide, 48MP 5x telephoto), a 4,850mAh battery and the HiLight notification light on the back. Pixel 11 Pro XL (£1,279 to £1,629) is the same phone at 6.8 inches with a bigger battery.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold (£1,799 to £2,149) is the book foldable: an 8-inch inner display and 6.5-inch cover, thinner and lighter than last year's, IP68 rated (the only 2026 foldable with a full dust rating), Qi2 magnetic charging, and a 4,750mAh battery that reviewers find adequate rather than generous.

All four run Android 17 with Google's Gemini assistant built in, get Pixel Drop feature updates quarterly, and carry Google's promise of seven years of OS and security updates from first availability.

Why a business might choose Pixel

Software support is the best in Android, and it is cheap. Samsung matches seven years on its S-series flagships and foldables, but its A-series phones get six, and most other Android brands offer three to five. Google gives seven years on the £879 Pixel 11. For a business planning a four-year refresh, that is three years of headroom, which matters when a phone gets handed down to a lighter role.

Patches arrive first. Pixels get Android security updates the day Google publishes them. Samsung and others follow days or weeks later. For a security-conscious business that is a real, if small, advantage.

Security hardware and features. The Titan M3 chip handles keys, biometrics and boot integrity, and Google says Tensor G6 and Titan M3 implement post-quantum cryptography for future-proofing. Theft Protection uses motion sensing to lock the screen if the phone is snatched from your hand. Google's Phone and Messages apps filter scam calls and texts on-device, which for staff who take calls from the public is worth having. Android Enterprise device attestation lets your MDM verify a Pixel has not been tampered with before it gets access to company data.

Clean Android. No manufacturer skin, no duplicate apps, no pre-installed bloat. For IT, that means less to configure and fewer surprises when Android updates. For users, it means the phone behaves the way Google's documentation says it does.

Android Enterprise Recommended. Pixels are validated by Google for business deployment: zero-touch enrolment (a phone bought through an enrolled reseller configures itself on first boot), work profiles for BYOD, fully managed and dedicated-device modes for company-owned phones, and support for every mainstream MDM. Price. The Pixel 11 matches the Galaxy S26's £879 and undercuts the iPhone 17's £899, with a longer stated update promise than the iPhone and a 5x telephoto the S26 lacks. The Pixel 11 Pro at £1,079 is £200 less than the S26 Ultra and £120 less than the iPhone 18 Pro.

Why most UK businesses still buy Samsung or iPhone

No desktop mode. Samsung DeX turns a Galaxy into a desktop when it is plugged into a monitor. Android 17 has a desktop mode on Pixel, but it is not the polished, widely deployed tool DeX is, and no UK business we know of runs on it. If "plug the phone into a screen instead of carrying a laptop" is part of your plan, buy Samsung.

No stylus. Nothing in the Pixel range supports a pen. The Galaxy S26 Ultra does.

Performance. Tensor G6 is built for AI tasks and efficiency, not benchmarks. In everyday business use (email, Teams, CRM, maps) it is entirely fine. In sustained heavy use it trails the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in the Galaxy S26 and Fold 8, and reviewers of the Pro Fold in particular note it. For a work phone this rarely matters; for someone running heavy apps all day it might.

The business channel is thinner. Samsung sells Enterprise Editions with three-year warranties and next-day replacement through a UK business service centre. Apple has Apple Business and AppleCare+ for Business. Google's Pixel for Business programme exists and the phones are sold by EE, Vodafone, O2 and Tesco Mobile, but the extended-warranty and fleet-replacement infrastructure around Pixel in the UK is less developed. For a small fleet with a spare in the drawer that does not matter; for fifty field workers it does.

Familiarity and resale. Most UK staff have used an iPhone or a Samsung. Pixels are less common, which means a little more support, and their resale value is lower than an iPhone's, which affects total cost of ownership over a refresh cycle. Deploying Pixels

Nothing exotic is required. Buy through a reseller enrolled in Android zero-touch and the phones appear in your zero-touch portal; assign them to your MDM configuration and they enrol themselves on first boot. For a Google Workspace business, Google Endpoint Management handles passcode, encryption, remote wipe and app management without another licence; Intune, Workspace ONE and the rest work equally well. Work profiles keep company data in a separate encrypted container on a personally owned Pixel, and fully managed mode locks down a company-owned one. Two practical notes. First, the Pixel's on-device Gemini assistant is capable and, on a managed device, your MDM can restrict what it does with company data; decide that policy before rollout rather than after. Second, if you run a mixed fleet, the Pixel's update cadence (monthly, on the day) will get ahead of your Samsungs; that is a feature, but make sure your line-of-business apps are tested against new Android releases promptly, or use your MDM to hold updates for a week or two.

The verdict

The Pixel 11 is the best-value seven-year-supported Android on sale, and for a Google Workspace business with office-based staff it is a perfectly sensible fleet phone that costs less to run than an iPhone and less to buy than a Galaxy with equivalent support. The Pixel 11 Pro is a fine choice for anyone who wants a flagship camera and battery for less than Samsung or Apple charge. Where Pixel loses is the business infrastructure around the phone: no DeX, no stylus, no Enterprise Edition, a thinner UK support channel. For most UK SMEs that still tips the decision to Samsung for Android or iPhone for everything else, but the gap is narrower than it has ever been, and a business that values patch speed and clean software over accessories should give the Pixel 11 a serious look.
