What 2345 is for
Call 2345 from a Vodafone phone to hear your balance or top up. The on-screen alternative is the USSD code *#1345#, which needs your four-digit PIN.
2345 takes text keywords too: Vodafone's Extras pages list INTERNATIONAL as one you send to 2345.
Pay monthly customers use 44555 for balances; 40506 handles most other Extras.
What it costs
Vodafone does not publish a price for this code. Vodafone's balance help page tells customers to dial 2345 from their own Vodafone phone but does not state a charge for it, and the code does not appear in the Special Numbers table of Vodafone's pay as you go charges. We are not going to assume it is free: check Vodafone's UK Charge Checker, or use the My Vodafone app, which certainly is.

Is 2345 safe, and is it spoofed?
Messages arriving from a short code are a different matter. Sender IDs on inbound texts are easy to fake, and a fraudulent message can even land in the same thread as genuine ones.
